What is my message?

This is my first blog. I have many message ideas, all related to one main theme - the environment.

These are my ideas so far:
  • Be environmentally friendly. (this ties into all my message ideas)
  • Do not litter.
  • We can stop pollution!
  • You can save the earth.
  • Everything is connected
  • Appreciate and respect nature.
  • Reuse, Reduce, Recycle. We all concentrate on recycling. What about reusing and reducing?

  2. REDUCE-REUSE-RECYCLE
As a father of four, an opa of an eight month old grandchild, the future of earth is very important to me, them and should be to all of us. We cannot continue to live for today. We pollute the soil from which we grow our food; we poison the water we drink and the air that we breathe. This cannot continue. We need to do a better job taking care of our planet or risk living in the ruins of our neglect. “REDUCE, REUSE and RECYCLE”, is something all of us can and should be doing. With the implementation of the recycling program in Collingwood, I have been able to reduce my weekly trash from almost a bag and a half to less than a half a bag a week. Now, the rest all goes to the curb for recycling. That amounts to 52 bags of trash a year that used to go to the landfill that now gets recycled instead. If we all could do our small part, this would amass to a phenomenal amount of trash that would be reused instead of being buried in the ground to leech toxic chemicals into the earth, or dumped in the oceans and kill off sea life. All of which would be detrimental to mankind. At the current pace of the world population growth, in 10 years there will be approximately 1.1 billion more people living in the world as there is now. There is the potential for hundreds of tons of more trash annually than we produce now. We must act now and do our part. And we must be very diligent in our efforts to clean and keep clean our earth or future generations will suffer the consequences of our inactions.
REDUCE-REUSE-RECYCLE. START NOW. You can make a difference.
